Hotels are not doing enough to encourage students to stay in the hospitality industry, said hotel-school graduates.
"Hotels should invest more in student trainees as they might be their future employees and have strength in their future development," said Honeida Saleh, a recent graduate.
"Starting salaries are not enough and training is not being conducted as it should. Having had my two internships, I was not trained properly," she continued.
Second year hospitality student Ghassan Rizkallah agreed: "Hotels are not doing enough to encourage students to stay in the hospitality industry.
"Working in the hospitality industry requires so much motivation and passion for this domain. In this field, there is a lot of work, a lot of stress and pressure. In addition salaries are very low comparing to other industries. For these reasons, hotels should combine their effort to encourage more the students to stay in the hotel industry."
